Baylor and Nola's Bat Mitzvah Project
We chose to support animals in need by collecting donations of supplies, toys, and food for the Licking County Humane Society. We made this choice because we love animals of all kinds and because animals have played such an important role in our own lives. Our family is lucky to share our home with three beloved pets: two cats, Bo and Figgy, and our dog, Tulip. Our animals are more than pets; they are family. The love, comfort, and support they provide us every day have been powerful and meaningful.
How You Can Help
The Licking County Humane Society relies on donated supplies to provide daily care, comfort, and safety for animals while they wait for their forever homes. The items on their wish list help support everything from feeding and cleaning to medical care and shelter operations.
Some of the most urgent needs include everyday essentials that are used constantly at the shelter — such as non-clumping kitty litter for kittens, bleach and disinfecting supplies, laundry detergent, disposable gloves, trash bags, and distilled water. Office and operational items like printer paper, postage stamps, and gas gift cards also play an important role in keeping the shelter running smoothly.
Comfort and care items make a big difference for the animals as well. Donations like pill pockets, spray cheese, and Feliway plugins or spray help reduce stress and support animals’ health and well-being.
Monetary donations may be sent directly to Licking County Humane Society in honor of Baylor and Nola's Bat Mitzvah.

What is a Bat Mitzvah Project?
A Bat Mitzvah service project is an opportunity for young people to give back to their community as they take on greater responsibility and meaning in their Jewish lives. This milestone invites them to turn reflection into action and put Jewish values into practice.
